Fireblocks Introduces Web3 Services
Fireblocks, a cryptocurrency custody provider, is looking to diversify its customer base by adding new services. The business announced the launch of its new Web3 suite, which would provide users with new capabilities in the areas of decentralized finance, network finance, and blockchain gaming. The goal of this offering is to give firms creating solutions in these domains with institutional-grade services.
Animoca Brands, Stardust, MoonPay, Xternity Games, Griffin Gaming, Wirex, Celsius, and Utopia Labs are among the companies that have already signed up for the service, according to sources. These and other partners will have direct access to liquidity provided by decentralized finance exchanges and NTF markets such as OpenSea, Rarible, Uniswap, and Dydx.
The suite had been in development for a while, and the business gave an early look at it, adding support for decentralized banking apps on top of the now-defunct Terra blockchain, which was the second largest protocol in terms of assets locked at the time. The complete suite now supports these services on 35 distinct blockchains, including both EVM and non-EVM projects.
Taking on New Challenges
While Fireblocks already has a large customer base of over 1,200 organizations and has safeguarded more than $2.5 trillion in digital assets, the launching of these services intends to target a segment of the market that it would otherwise be difficult to reach.
Michael Shaulov, the CEO and co-founder of Fireblocks, stated:
"The idea is to effectively provide to this new group of actors all of the security armament and capabilities that we've established for enable financial organizations to work with crypto."
The company had previously stated that play-to-earn, one of the industries that this suite aims to service, is critical to the gaming industry's future. Fireblocks wrote in a blog post on May 4 that:
"On some level, the next generation of gaming will very certainly contain NFTs and crypto - the question is when and how, not if."
