According to a press release issued on Friday, digital asset platform Bakkt Holdings (BKKT) has appointed two additional female members to its board of directors, bringing the total number of female board members to six.
De'Ana Dow, partner and general counsel at Capitol Counsel LLC, and Jill Simeone, chief legal officer and corporate secretary at Etsy, have joined the company's board of directors (ETSY).
Out of a total of ten board members, Bakkt Holdings now has four female members.
Men are in charge of the crypto industry. According to a LinkedIn analysis, men made up 70% of new crypto employees between 2018 and 2021.
Dow will contribute her experience in financial markets and regulatory concerns to the Bakkt board. For more than 20 years, she worked at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in high legal and policymaking positions (CFTC).
Simeone, for one, has extensive experience in governance, executive remuneration, compliance, and risk management, according to the news release. For the past five years, she has acted as Etsy's chief legal officer and corporate secretary.
