The ratings division of S&P Global has formed a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) strategy group to assist in the development of the company's decentralized market framework for investors.
- According to a statement released Monday, Chuck Mounts will lead the organization as chief DeFi officer and will collaborate closely with Charles Jansen, the newly appointed head of DeFi transformation.
- S&P's analytics and risk assessment capabilities for conventional finance and DeFi clients are being expanded by the team.
- S&P's move comes after Moody's, another major credit rating agency, said last year that it was hiring crypto specialists to deal with "the potential wide-ranging impact of decentralized finance on current ecosystems."
