Latam is a Metaverse believer.
More and more businesses are becoming interested in the perspectives of people in various corners of the world on the metaverse. According to a new survey performed by Ipsos for the World Economic Forum, while half of all adults worldwide have a positive view of the metaverse and how it can improve their lives, emerging countries are more excited about the topic.
The study polled groups of 1,000 and 500 adults in 29 nations, each of which was considered representative of the country's real population. According to the study, all of the countries in Latam examined — including Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, and Peru — had a more positive attitude toward metaverse technology than the rest of the world. Peruvians have a favourable attitude toward the metaverse, with 74 percent of adults surveyed saying so, only surpassed by a few nations in the APAC region.
More Information
The majority of people feel that some applications of metaverse technology will be more successful than others, according to the survey. When asked which types of metaverse apps would have the greatest impact on people's life in the next ten years, the majority of those polled said virtual learning (66 percent), VR entertainment (64 percent), virtual work environments (62 percent), and virtual/enhanced gaming (62 percent) (60 percent ). Trading of digital assets received a 52 percent rating, which is something that is already being worked on in a few isolated metaverse systems.
People were less enthusiastic about virtual tourism, with only 48% of those polled saying it has a favorable influence. The study goes on to say that:
"New technology familiarity and favorability are also much greater among younger adults, those with a higher degree of education, and men than they are among older adults, those without a college-level education, and women."
Despite these discrepancies, most respondents anticipate that metaverse technology will have an impact on their life in the next ten years.
