AUSTIN, Texas – During the Consensus 2023 festival, David Maisel, the visionary behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, drew parallels between the early days of Marvel Studios - when it was self-funded and independent of Hollywood's major production houses - and the current state of Web3. Maisel highlighted this connection during his speech, emphasizing the similarities between the two revolutionary movements.
David Maisel, the founder of Mythos Studios, has recently announced the launch of the Ekos Genesis Art Collection, which features breathtaking original artwork by legendary comic book artists Michael Turner and Peter Steigerwald. The collection, which has received widespread acclaim, showcases the unique talents and contributions of Turner and Steigerwald, who are renowned for their work in the Marvel and DC comic universes.
“I think there's so much noise that we have," he said. "In our lives, there are so many pulls on our time, so many distractions, that for something new to break through ... there needs to be a visual identity to it and a primal feeling from it. And art does that for me."
Maisel believes that a significant aspect of the appeal of Web3 and digital art is its inherent shareability, allowing for greater dissemination and enjoyment.
“You don't have to just go to the museum or go to somebody's home,” Maisel said. "I hope this shows a vote of confidence from someone who hasn't been in the space. I really want to share this art and the possibilities around it."
"The question 'why' comes from the same seed that was in me for Marvel," Maisel said. "I don't think I could do [Web3] if I didn't have that same passion."
Starting at 10 a.m. PT on May 2nd, a Dutch auction will commence for the Ekos Genesis Art Collection by Mythos Studios. This highly anticipated event is not to be missed by art collectors and enthusiasts alike.
