Overview: What is Theta Fuel?
Theta Fuel (TFUEL) is one of two native Theta tokens. To avoid confusion, TFUEL is not the same as Theta Token (THETA), which is supported by thousands of community-run Guardian nodes and Enterprise validators like Google, Binance, Blockchain Ventures and Samsung.
TFUEL is the second Theta blockchain utility token that acts as a gas token for decentralized video and data delivery. This includes payments to relayers for sharing video streams, deploying and interacting with smart contracts, and fees associated with transacting NTFs and DeFi applications.
It also encourages users to share redundant computing power as Edge Compute nodes and bandwidth as Edge Caching nodes for video streams and other data.

How many TFUEL coins are in circulation?
THETA and TFUEL are the two coins in the Theta ecosystem. Both coins are used to interact on the Theta blockchain, but they serve different purposes.
It is estimated that there are currently 5,232,675,200 TFUEL coins in circulation. Theta Tokens have a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 and will never increase.
Staking is possible because Theta uses a proof-of-stake algorithm. Because the supply of THETA is finite, TFUEL is the reward for staking on the network. To be eligible for staking, you must either stake 1,000 THETA or run your own Guardian Node.
